Dear Kol haKfar Community:
We recently received complaints from members who felt harassed and uncomfortable at a recent event when asked for contact information or when dealing with persistent unwanted correspondence.
We want to be clear that Kol haKfar is a community based on respect and trust. Many of us have made very close friendships and connections at Kol haKfar, several of which have grown outside the minyan. This is fantastic, and it’s something we value highly about our group. But members of our community should never feel pressured or harassed to have any form of contact or relationship they are not comfortable with.
We have spoken with the people about whom we received complaints, and have made clear that behavior which makes others uncomfortable is not tolerated at Kol haKfar. We want to thank the members for letting us know, and to encourage anyone who feels or has felt similarly uncomfortable to speak with any of the board members. Let’s all make sure that Kol haKfar remains the warm, welcoming, and safe space we all want it to be.
Zachary, Leora, and Noah
